The portfolio, open, and the slip case box. Each of the photographer's 13" x 19" prints were guarded by hand to aid the turning of the pages and to strengthen the screw post binding. (Guarding is the adding of a strip of linen to the left edge of each print – this allows the pages to turn easily and to lay flat.)
