Two of the portfolios, open. The portfolios were lined with a bright pink satin and each of the photographer’s prints were guarded by hand to aid the turning of the pages and to strengthen the screw post binding. (Guarding is the adding of a strip of linen to the left edge of each print – this allows the pages to turn easily and to lay flat.) Pockets were placed on the inside back cover of each portfolio to hold leave-behinds.
