The hand sewn album, open. Each of the 25 house 25 – 14" x 14" double matted photographs were guarded in between the two pieces of matte board that matted each print. (Guarding is the adding of a strip of linen to the left edge of each matte – this allows the pages to turn easily and to lay flat.) The linen guards were glued to separate pieces of matte board and were then sewn using the Japanese stab sewing technique.
